Fulham trees @ night & Primrose Hill sunset

Out with my, by now trusty Leia M8 a few night s ago, I photographed some trees in Fulham at night, lit by street lamps.....

I find them really beautiful and helps me realise that there is something worth looking at, and photographing just about wherever one is. It just takes the right time, viewpoint and light to make it interesting.
At the weekend we had a lunch at a restaurant near Primrose Hill and strolled up the hill afterwards. It seemed half of the town, was enjoying the view with us!

Nelson - Portraits of a cat

Last Easter we visited friends and they had a cat called Nelson who was full of character and was much loved.
I took several photos of him, printed a few and sent them off as mementos and that was that.

A few days ago, I heard that Nelson had been killed by a car and today I re-visited those pictures and found that I had really taken some strong portraits of someone called Nelson and not just any old cat.

My Leica M8 and I go to Lisbon for Christmas

Christmas in Lisbon was wonderful, with, wide boulevards and squares, busy shopping streets, excellent restaurants and sun and sea. On the odd day when it was cooler and misty, it was still all quite beautiful.

The Leica M8 was in it's element, small, unobtrusive, quiet and amazingly quick to use in manual! Being in control using the viewfinder with its frames was in stark contrast to using a DSLR and the quality of the Leica lenses proved amazing.

You can see more from this trip in a slideshow and as usual, I look forward to your comments!
