Big Ben - taken on B and W Infrared Film

These two pictures of Big Ben and Churchill's statue in Parliament Square taken with my Leica M6 and Kodak Infrared film have been provoking positive comments in Fulham, where a small selection of my prints are on show and for sale at the barber shop, Crew Experience at 911 Fulham Road, London SW6 5HU. Tel: 020 3010 1096.

So I thought of putting them on the blog and seeing if they strike a chord with readers, who perhaps can direct me to examples of their photos which have used infrared to give their shots some zing.

I have recently started offering my images not only as Giclee prints but also as:
  • multiple lenticular prints and
  • printed up to wall size on canvas and
  • using a specialist photo etching service
to increase greatly the use of photography as a decorative feature in the home. The response has been gratifying. Please visit my website for more information.

Look - a bit of fun with PhotoShop

In my earlier post today, I had this shot of part of a "Look Right" sign on the road near the Barbican. The O's reminded me of eyes, so I thought I would complete the picture and this emerged! I hope you all like it

One afternoon at the Barbican

Further to the previous post, I also took these photos while visiting the Barbican. Again the Leica because of its incredible lenses, makes the mundane interesting.

Barbican Race - Colour, B+W,Crop?

Last week I took a photo of some school children having fun at the Barbican with some impromptu races. It is a classic Leica shot with lots of energy and detail. I shot it in colour, then did a black and white version and then tried several crops. I cannot decide which I like the most - so please help me with your opinions.

B+W

B+W Cropped

B+W Cropped Again

I think that maybe B &W Cropped works best but let's see what you all think!??

Dazed Digital The Hvana Project

Dazed Magazine have just launched a re-vamped collaborative website called DazedDigital which includes RISE, a section for promoting creative talent in photography, illustration and now also music and fashion to which I have submitted work as a member of Dazed's creative community.

Dazed use the Rise community to commission work for the magazine and for exhibitions in the Dazed gallery.

Another section of the site is the PROJECTS area through which they run creative projects. For the launch of the site they have teamed up with luxury streetwear brand HVANA (which was co-founded by renowned DJ/producer Howie B) who are giving members the chance to create a limited edition t-shirt. The projects will change throughout the year so it is well worth your keeping an eye on, as it's designed to further help support and promote creative talent.

I have had a go, using one of my street photography images which I show below:

I thinks its rather cool! What do YOU think?

LIP Urban Nature workshop with Karen Knorr

Last week I attended another "London Independent Photography" workshop hosted by the photographer Karen Knorr, who set us a brief before hand to explore the issue of Urban Nature. My response to it incorporating my idea of the Urban beach took the form of a slideshow with text made up from pictures in my archive and work taken specially for it. Your comments on it would be appreciated. The variety of work presented and the quality of the discussion made for an excellent and valuable day out.
